How To Cook Frozen Green Beans In An Air Fryer
Here are the ingredients you need...
- Frozen green beans
- Sunflower oil
- Salt
- Garlic powder
- Pepper flakes
A few notes about the ingredients...
Seasoning: Add your favourite seasoning before cooking frozen green in the air fryer; just make sure it doesn’t overshadow the sweet taste of the green beans. Garlic works particularly well with green beans. I have tried it with herbs and garlic as well as butter and garlic. Both tasted amazing.
How To Make It...
Heat the air fryer to 1600C (320 F). Green beans do not need a high temperature to cook as they quickly go from nicely done to overcooked.
Pour the oil into a big bowl, then mix in the salt, garlic powder and pepper.
Add the frozen green beans into the bowl and toss until coated with the oil and spices.
Arrange the beans on the air fryer tray in a single layer. Do not overcrowd.
Toss after 5 mins to get even cooking.
Leave for another 3-5 mins, remove from heat and serve.
Remember, there are variations in air fryers. I recommend often checking after the first 5 mins until you get your desired level of crispiness.
Recipe FAQ
Store air-fried frozen green beans for a few days in the fridge and reheat in the microwave. It will lose its crispiness, but still tastes delicious. I would not advise reheating in the air fryer as the green beans quickly overcook and become chewy.
Should I thaw frozen green beans before cooking in the air fryer? No. Like most frozen vegetables, it is better to cook from frozen; otherwise the vegetable loses structure and becomes soggy.
